As per title.

I have a 10.5" LCD display I want to connect up to a PC, but am struggling with the connector it comes with...

What type of socket is this?

This appears to be the power connector for the monitor, though I can't understand why it has 4 wires.. can anyone shed any light on this? Is it a standard connector for motherboards?

Cheers all!

It's a 20-pin LVDS monitor connector - you can see the "LVDS" marking on the PCB for the monitor connector :)

Edit - Just realised that I typed 20 pin - it's actually a 40-pin connector :O

What you have there is an industrial LCD display and controller, it is going to be a pain in the arse to connect to a PC :p

You will need a graphics card with an LVDS output, something like this .

The inverter will probably be a 5v affair, the extra wires will be for adjusting the brightness via a potentiometer. (Oh and if you do attempt to power it up beware, they stick out a few hundred volts AC, it stings ;) ).

Probably easier and cheaper to just buy a more PC-centric 10.4" LCD.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, it's exactly what I was dreading!

Because of the risky and costly solution of the graphics card, i've been looking for alternative 10.4" monitors, and can't seem to find any! Maybe it's just me

Thanks for the help :)
