EE are being absolute turd burglars with my partners phone upgrade. They are offering silly money for an upgrade from iPhone SE to iPhone 8. Quoting prices like £47 for 8gb Data. They won't budge on tariff.

So I did some digging and used uSwitch to check tariffs and overall costs. Some of the deals on there via EE are much much better so I was wondering if you can leave EE and then rejoin via a 3rd party supplier such as Affordable Mobiles etc.

They can do an EE contract for iPhone 8 64gb, 25gb, Unlimited texts and calls for £43 a month. So can it be done?

Porting the number to a different provider and back is possible. I nearly did this but EE basically price matched what a new contract was so accepted that.

It took me 2 attempts to get someone who was really helpfully. I ended up doing mine and my wife's at the same time. There is a maximum they can take off the phone and per month amount which means they cannot match some of the 3rd parties.

I've ported out of ee and back again and did it on my wife's phone, deals were rubbish so went via mobilephonesdirect with ee deal ....fairly straightforward
