Can you mix and match?

ive got 1GB Geil Ultra X atm - i want another gig but cant really afford another gig of Geil - as such, i was wondering if i can mix and match with another brand?

Usually you can get away with it, but you'll be limited by the timings of the slower modules.

Also dual channel will not be possible as far as i know

You should still be ok in dual channel iirc.

In practice most RAM will work together fine, honest

Never really tried. Always used identical memory. Live by the rules ... die by the rules.
