Can you modify the iPod Touch volume buttons?

I'd like something like this:

Tap up/down = volume up/down
Hold up/down 2sec = skip track
press both simultaneously = play/pause

Nope, but there is earphones will controllers on the cable that will do that.

You can't hold down the buttons at the same time anyway :S atleast not on my iphone.

One click to pause track
Two clicks to go forward a track
Three clicks to go back a track.
