I got an upgrade to 20 meg from 4 meg off Virgin Media and since then my dl speeds have been loads worse.. Surfing is painfully slow and my son is screaming at the telly playing his PS3 due to laggg that wasnt there before...

I used a speedtest that peaked at 15000k once or twice but generally seemed to be about the 3000 mark... I had a great 4000 ish always on the old service? Even the same web dl gets 450kb ish on the 4 meg and about 300 on the 20 meg. I get 4 meg service off the 4 meg service and less off the 20 meg???

I got downgraded tonight to the 4 meg service and now im getting better speeds again???

SO, can i be overloading something with the 20 meg that i can fix atall please???

What modem do you have?

If it is not the ambit 200 series, then you will need to contact broadband support to have it swapped out (either a freebie of you do it yourself, or £25 if you want an engineer to unscrew the old one and screw the new one in for you)

Sounds like you need a new modem, as that one was supplied by telewest awhile a go, and they only recommend the ambit 200 series for 20Mb+ (little blue/black modem)
