Hi,

Is there a way to pin an image so that it opens in photo viewer to the Windows 7 Taskbar? Can other documents that I use a lot be pinned too (such as a word doc)?

Cheers ears :)

You can't really pin the files themselves, but you can use what are called Jump Lists. If you right-click on any of the program icons on the taskbar and a menu should come up - this is the Jump List.

Right-click the Word icon and it will show you all the recently used documents. If you have a document you open a lot, you can click the little pin icon to the right, and it will stick it to the top of the list and will always be there when you open the Jump List. I am sure you could put a shortcut for the photo viewer on the taskbar and do the exact same only with pictures :)

Thanks a lot:) For some reason though, photo viewer doesn't have a jumplist or "pin to taskbar" when you right-click the icon. All you get is "close window". Other programs like Word have a jumplist though.

I think because Photo Viewer is part of Explorer, rather than a proper program. Hence why it can't be pinned to anything.

If there are whole directories with images you use often, you could create a new toolbar [right-click Taskbar > Toolbars > New Toolbar] pointing to that folder.
