Can you please suggest whether this PSU is appropriate?

I am building an mATX setup.

- MSI Ryzen B450M MORTAR MAX AM4 mATX Motherboard

- Ryzen 5 3600 Processor

- Screen is 1440p 144hz

And a graphics card which has a recommended PSU of 550W

I have already purchased the following PSU:

CORSAIR - TX550M Semi-Modular ATX PSU - 550 W. (gold rated)

I thought this was fine but everything I am reading on the internet offers conflicting advice, I am inclined to go with he advice of the GPU manufacturer (above) but I'm new to PC building and I've figured everything else out except for this PSU business.

Can anyone offer advice here? Do I need more wattage? I can return this PSU I bought already but would rather not go through the hassle if I can avoid it.

Thank you! I am getting the same results when I use a PSU calculator, there is quite a divide on the internet about PSU. The confusion for me is that everyone on blogs, youtube, etc seems to have a PSU at least 100w over the recommended for their setup
Many people over estimate or allow headroom for further upgrades which is wise as you dont have to change the psu again for future upgrades . 550w is definatelly enough for your system so i wouldnt worry but future upgrades you may need a new psu for example a 3080 is recommend a 750w psu.

The psu you have should be absolutely fine, as its not only the recommended wattage for the gpu but a decent model. Some of the high end nvidia 3000 series and Radeon 6000 series benefit from a higher spec psu as they have power spikes, being a lower power card the 3060 should suffer less with this issue. Also a cheaper psu might not give the recommended amps at the required wattage but you have wisely opted for a good performance to price psu.

Why not to buy a cheap psu, https://youtu.be/ejnsP9RXCOs

TX550 is a reasonable PSU, Japanese caps etc.

It's main limitation is a single cable to 2 x PCI-E 8pin, however that is fine any AM4 CPU and up to RTX3070.

I got one as a spare on black Friday for a great price.... pretty much the only hardware deal I saw
