Can you receive a payment from paypal by email?

you can send a payment to any email address. However, the recipient needs to link that email address to his or her paypal account (and if necessary sign up for a paypal account) to draw the funds.

I have a paypal account and just sent out a payment request through paypal by email to someone. He doesn't have an account with paypal and I heard that you don't need an account. He can just pay by credit or debit card and the money we be sent to my paypal account. Is that right?

One other thing, the person I sent the request to, will he see any paypal details like my house address that I registered with paypal?

Many thanks in advance

Simple, fast and free
Sending money to friends and family is free when you pay through your bank account or PayPal account balance and the funds become available to them in minutes.

Simply enter the email address (or mobile number) of your recipient in the Send Money form, along with the amount you want to send. There’s no need to know their sort code or bank account number. Always select the “Personal” tab in the form when sending money to friends and family.

You can choose to pay by credit card or debit card, but there will be a small fee, which you can opt to pay instead of the recipient.

How does my friend get their money ?

Your friend will be notified that they have funds. They don’t need to have a PayPal account to receive this notification, although they will need to open one to withdraw or spend the funds.
