can anybody recomend to me any good games or mods set during the Vietnam War ?

Sick of WW2 and Modern era titles. Cant seem to find any Vietnam.

I bought Battlefield Vietnam a few weeks ago from a second hand shop and unfortunatley it didnt have a CD key or manual so I couldnt play it, Its a shame as Ive heard good things about it but it only cost me 99p so cant really grumble.

Thing is I'm really in the mood to play a game set during that time period with rolling stones and the doors as sound track.:D

no preferance if its FPS or 3rd person.

Thanks in advance for any input.:)

There hasn't been that many "good" titles but here are some Vietnam titles off the top of my head:

Vietcong + Expansion
Vietcong 2
Men of Valor
Shellshock
Shellshock 2 (although both games had poor reviews from start)
Conflict Vietnam

Also not Vietnam era but some decent jungle action in CoD: WaW and Medal of Honour Pacific Assault.

Vietcong is superb, especially on the realism setting on co-op (yes it has CO-OP!)

Use to play it on LAN with a mate for hours on end and you spent about 10 mins in a bush waiting for someone to expose themselves to take a shot and then make sure its clear for you to move or die trying lol. Superb game

@ neoboy

I remember playing Conflict Vietnam on the PS2 years ago I remember enjoying it at the time.

Cheers for the list I'll have to check them titles out.

I played Vietcong when it was not long after it came out and it was a reasonably good game, don't know how it would hold up now though.

I'll have to check that out if its good on LAN I can play it with my little boy. We play Farcry 2 together on a LAN setup though I have to say that he sucks but then he's only 7 years old.:D

Vietcong is probably my favourite out of them all, the tension in jungle battles was just amazing. The expansion pack was pretty good too and a lot more expansive in terms of levels. I do remember there was one mission called something like "Valley of Death" and the name really wasn't lying there, I think the whole level was just a big bush with enemies who possessed x ray technology!

EDIT: It is fairly old now so not sure how well it stood the test of time and it does have AI problems.

Its really good but if hes 7 you'll definately have to keep it on favourable difficulty settings :P

The realism setting has no crosshair or hud at all and 1 shot on your head, torso of top of legs is fatal instantly and you often dont see where it came from, forcing you to take a slightly different route and try and flank the guy who shot you lol. You do this over and over slowly moving across the level until you've wiped them all out. Its basically like playing rainbow six gold on steroids :D

You can download bots for the deathmatch and team deathmatch as well which work actually pretty well for a change when you get bored of the co-op levels.

Also, I think you can buy 1 game but 2 people play LAN with it as you get 2 disks but dont quote me on that!

Oh forgot to mention that team PR are releasing a Vietnam mod for BF2 in the near future, details over at their website.

I really enjoyed Battlefield: Vietnam, especially as it was much faster paced than 1942, which I was always found slow and frustrating. I'd be amazed if people are still playing it though.

Great soundtrack!

Another vote for Vietcong and expansions, it can be very slow paced due to the difficulty but it's not too slow.
