... With you to an official third party as long as the individual is anonymised. The communication is based on a number of texts involving some workplace bullying from some highly placed council officials. I have been requested to supply my opinion and evidence to both the press and the local politician. The person being bullied is still being targeted by the officials despite leaving his employment and going on to another job. Frankly he is quite scared to bring things into the open and knows nothing about the requests from the politician and the press.

I'd be singing from the rafters, get that on the front page of the press. Don't think they have a leg to stand on legally, but wait for someone more clued omup on this to confirm.

Provide it in a redacted form, and keep it the original transcripts if required? Don't see why not.

A bully can't hide behind DPA or privacy legislation, and as long as the texts/emails are real then they can't sue for slander.

I'd kick up merry hell if a friend of mine was in this position.

I saved and compiled my response ready for submission to the press and and the politician tonight. I no longer care about remaining anonymous and am prepared to speak out on TV if it gets that far. I don't know how it gets on TV.
When my colleague left his previous emoyment, the individuals who were victimising him rang around the other places he would be able to gain employment threatening them.
It made us both bad eventually but with me they just buried my reports that portrait them in a bad light. I'm not going to go in to any more detail on here but it's all due to come out in to the open this week. I ought to be able to comment more directly then. There are also solicitors involved so it promises to be quite a scandal.

Anonymised and unaltered is fine
What if the politician asks for their names? I don't see how she can address and deal with the issues if she doesn't receive them? Obviously anonymised for the press.

If you’re whistleblowing to the regulatory body (local MP) then you can give over all information. Where you need to be more careful is dealing with the press.

Im not 100% sure here but do you have any body which controls your sector? If so its common for you to follow there procedure first before leaking to press and others. If you just release to press and go over the official reporting procedure you may face action yourself for not following protocol.

Just something to look at but i may be way off the mark here

Yes, i was referring to press/publishing when anonymising

If there's solicitors involved already why are you asking us?
Because the politician and local press have directly contacted us in addition to the legal and I have to submit my report tonight. The press are interviewing Monday.

The victimisation that has occurred has breached professional behavioural standards and caused a number of people to lose their jobs and livelihoods. It also involves two separate government departments with one acting and behaving illegally. It's not just a case of the bullying one person.

Because there are a number of complex, interrelated concerns and not just data protection, and because the politician and local press directly contacted us in addition to the legal.
Surely your solicitors are going to be better placed to give you the correct answer to this question then if it's even more complex than we're seeing here.

Why wasn't this reported to the Police? If the individuals who were victimising them rang around the other places he would be able to gain employment threatening them that to me seems like indirect harassment? Reportable to the police. Reportable to their senior managers/HR too.

If bullied in the workplace should try to deal with it internally first. If that doesn't work then it's time for the Police. In this case they've left the employment but it seems like they're being harassed.
Never too late to get it reported. Could tackle it from different angles, Police and press etc.

The correct answer has been given here. Anonymise for the press. My report has to be submitted tonight. It's Sunday and so on and luckily for me, I suppose, I am out of the Country for a week when the others involved with these odious officials will be providing their experience of events.

Oh! It's this to do with the secret child exchanges for African wildlife?

What do we win if we guess the scandal?
