Can you return Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, etc. items to the UK?

Returning items from said sites is a pain.

I notice on the outside of an item I've got from Amazon.de, there is a UK returns address.

What will happen if I return an item to this address? Will I get my refund?

if its a uk returns address use it.
did the item even come from foreign lands? might have just been sent from a uk warehouse to save costs if it's a sold by amazong item
