Right.

I have a PS4 which is sending the sound via its HDMI cable to my monitor a AOC 27G2U5. But the sound quality from the inbuilt speakers are terrible.

Is there some way to route the sound from the monitor back into the pc and then have that come out to the speakers i have hooked up to it?

My other thought is that i plug my speakers into the port on the monitor and have that play the pc sound, but im unsure what loss of quality there would be if any.

So either PS4 to monitor to PC to Speakers

or PS4 and PC to monitor to Speakers.

Any advice would be greatly recieived.

The speakers i have are an old but good set of 2.1 Creative things.

Thanks
Brian.

You can if the monitor has a 3.5mm audio output socket. Just run a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to the line in on the sound card in the PC.

Another way to do it, involves using an SPDIF DAC, taking optical from the PS4, then connecting the analogue output to the line in on the PC.

Thats good to know, just need to get one of those ordered.

The other option requires no purchase, could anyone comment on if there would be a degredation in quality?

Thanks.

DAC in monitor is propably lot better than its speakers.
So if it has 3,5mm socket, taking signal out from that would certainly be better.
