Can you run dual channel DDR3 ram in triple channel motherboard?

also on all the i7 cpus description it says it supports ddr3 1333mhz, so what supports 1600mhz?

If they actually don't support faster memory speeds (even by changing ratios in the bios or something) you can still use your 1600MHz when overclocking - it'll give you more headroom on the RAM so if your top clock's RAM limited you'll be able to run it faster.
