Can You Run It?

that website has been around for a long time. sponsered by gamespot i think. its okay...but i wouldnt totally rely on it. put it this way as long as you have a dual core and a decent graphics card your a shoe in.

If they did the real spec for playing then no one would have bought Crysis.

Even the recommended ones are wrong.

Recommended doesnt mean maxed.
Minimal doesn't mean 45 + fps.

Some people accept the fact they have to play @ 30 fps @ 800x600& lowest on their 7300 LE's or whatever they have.

Although you are right, crysis ran on worse cards than a 6800GT, I ran the beta fine on a 6800GS.

I prefer yougamers, run by Futuremark as in 3D mark.

They usually post the manufacturers minimum and recomended specs as well as adding their own - which are invariably much higher than the manufacturers.

I like the gimmicky feel of the game-o-meter too as seen here for Assassin's Creed.

it's a pretty good site, at least gives you an idea (which all ocukers should know whether or not they can play anyway)

for noobs, it'd be really handy

Haven't used that in years

honestly, it is nothing more than looking at the back of the box and reading min specs/recommended specs.

it would be more helpful, if it could actually predict what FPS you would get at different resolutions and settings.

Windows can use a certain amount of system memory for graphics on top of the graphics memory. In Vista you can see how much is available using the Performance Information Tool, XP makes it much harder to find out how much is available.
