Can you still get FireWire enclosures?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And if you can, who makes them?

It seems almost all the enclosures are USB2 or USB3 now, but I need FireWire, preferably in 3.5" drive format, but 2.5" is an option.

Thanks.

It's not an enclosure, but I have just bought a docking station (one just inserts a bare 3.5" or 2.5" SATA drive) which supports Firewire 400 and 800 + 2 x USB 2 ports. Only downside it does not "daisy chain" ( but I still have 2 x Firewire 400 enclosures which do).

It works with my SSD drive too.

Price was ~ £30.00, IIRC.

Thanks, I've seen those docking stations but have only seen them in USB and I didn't know that they did FW ones also, I'll have a google and see if anyone has them in stock. :)

My mistake - £42.99 (inc P&P).

I thought it was £24.99. :(

It does seem anything with a Firewire port seems to cost more now, I remember buying an external 3.5" SATA enclosure last year for around £15 which had a firewire port, but they're no longer stocked now it seems. :(

Yes, Firewire does seem pricey.

My Firewire 400 enclosures have removable caddies which makes switching drives much faster - but even they cost nearly £10 if I can locate any.
