I've got a Sky News recording on my Sky+ HD box which is of myself and a few colleagues from work. Would like to keep hold of it. Our Sky+ HD box is playing up a bit so we are looking at either carrying out a full reset which will wipe the hard drive entirely or replacing the box. Either way, I'm looking at loosing the news program which is sat recorded on the planner.

Is there anyway I can stream the recorded program to my Android tablet or iPhone and 'capture' the video/audio?

Only way is to actually record it via a DVD recorder or capture device. You can't transfer sky+ stuff to another source however you can copy it to another hdd for use in the sky box

Ah, damn. Ok. How do you copy it to another HDD? Do you need to whip out the drive from the box and hook it up to a PC using a USB enclosure then just copy/paste files?

you will need software like ExPVR on your pc to then copy the software to pc and then back onto new HDD.
this software builds the sky menus etc. sorry but can't do simple copy and paste as far as I am aware.
