Can you suggest a good CPU cooler?

I need a good CPU cooler that can fit my Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3H AMD 780G (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard and Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case.

My main concern is about the size possibly blocking off my ram slots and casefans etc which i want to avoid.

I'd also like something that is easy to install, preferably with thermal pads so i dont have to use paste.

Thirdly if i remove my old stock cooler which used a thermal pad, will i have to do anything to the cpu before i fit the new one?

Thanks a lot!

I'm not update with it but this is the best review site i found for CPU coolers;

Oh and yeah you will need to remove the residue from the CPU. Nail polish remover and a lint free cloth will do if you don;t want to buy specialist cleaner.

Should get some paste though. Looking for thermal pads will restrict your choices too much (do any non-stock coolers come with this?) and also paste will give better performance.

Good advice - apart from the nail polish remover. It will leave a residue.
Buy the proper cleaner.

You're probably right but enough people on this board seem to do it. I mean if you are going to go to the bother of lapping or trying to get the very best overclock you can then yeah I its probably a bad idea.

If you regular reseat CPU's as well then its worth investing in the proper stuff.

If not then I don't see nail polish remover being that bad. It'll do the job if you have nothing else around.

thanks for the responses!

I've ordered the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler thank you for the suggestions.

Unfortunately i do not have any nail varnish around my house, as i live with another bloke. Unless he is secretly dressing up as a girl called 'Rita' on the weekends i think i'll have to go for the official stuff from the website!
