Can you tell / find out what network a mobile number is on?

Basically. im getting some silly text messages from an ex of mine and i think shes using one of her old old numbers. I think the number is vodaphone.
How can i find out what network the number belongs to?

I need to know before i confront her

Cheers

Phone the number and claim to be from Orange

They'll go 'I'm not with orange, I'm with xxxxxxx'

You go HAHAHAHAHA ****IN' PWNED INNIT and hang up

I would but they phone is switched off all the time. So she must be sending texts and switching it off.
I've tried ringing it constantly

However, don't forget that numbers are portable, so although the number was originally assigned to Vodafone, it may have been ported by the customer to another operator since then.

but shes always had that number. She stopped using it a few months ago.

Actually - the only thing that you can check is that the number WAS in Vodafone pool in 1998. As people change networks and move contracts porting their numbers between networks it's hard to track down all the redirections between operators it's quite doubtful someone remained on the same tariff for 10 years...

Yep, that website knows that my number was originally T-mobile, but that was 6 years ago, and it has been on orange and O2 since.
