As title really. I think we all know there are many fakes out there on ebay, but I was wondering if this was also a problem with lens filters? Specifically Hoya & B/W. The circular polarizers are signifignantly cheaper on ebay but is the saving worth the risk?!?

Are there many fakes about?

i bought 2 sealed as new boxed extra Hoyas off a dealer on ebay, no problems at all, genuine stuff

I got a great Hoya Polarizing filter from HK that fits my 70-200. Was sealed and cost me a damm sight less than what you'd pay over here.

Also, the results I am very impressed with and from what I can tell its no way a fake :)

I did the same for a 67mm "Blue label" Hoya Circular Polariser. Cost me £21 delivered, and arrived within 5 days - no duty to pay either.

Awsome!!!! I'll get bidding then :) Thank you for the quick replies.

Also the differences between circular and linear polarizers is easy to find on google if you really want to know. The only thing you will prob want to know is that you need a circular if you use a digital autofocus system.

Thank you all, especially feenster99 for the msn advice!

Just ordered myself the HOYA 67mm PRO1 Circular Polarizer and a 77mm ND8x!
