Can you unban a ps3

my friend has a ps3 that he got banned on so he bought another console and said I can have the old one for £30 is it worth me getting or can you not unban it? Thanks Phil

If Sony are anything like MS then you have no chance but i couldn't care less if the console was being offered to me for £30, i'd rip his arm off.

Also what was he actually banned for? are you sure it's not a account ban and not console?

He might have second thoughts if you raise the point of a banned account and that's what it was

I have heard one one person getting his IP/Mac banned for online, i wonder if its in warranty you could send it off and get a refurbed and unbanned console if this is the case.

It would be silly not too.

Worst happens you have a blu ray player, and can play games like MGS4. MGS4 is worth the console at full price (MY OPINION!!!) let alone 30.

Well I went out and got it. 80gb with box and still got warrenty on it but i am going to give them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say about it and if it can be unbanned?
