Entrpreneourishly I installed the legit final IE7 from one of the shareware/freeware download sites and it looks like it messed up my machine pretty badly. After 20-30 minutes of using IE or Windows Exlorer the explorer task and start bars lock up on me, window that is up stops responding to mouse clicks or keyboard input but tray is still visibly active. Clicking won't bring any windows up, caps lock, scroll lock can be switched on without any problems, but there is no alt-tabbing or taskmgr via ctrl-alt-delete. If I leave it be it blue screens about the same time when screen power saving should kick in.
Since IE7 is the only thing I installed for weeks and problems started the very reboot after installation I have to presume IE7 messed up some important files and would like to unistall it and replace with IE6. I tried uninstalling it from "Add remove Windows Components" but it doesn't really get rid of components and IE6 setup still reports there is higher version installed. Any ideas?
