My dad is getting a good core i3 laptop with his phone contract. It has a crap intel graphics card in it. I was wondering if its possible to upgrade the graphics card on it?

With a core i3 and a 32gb SSD drive i would expect abit of power in games aswell.

If its possible what card do you recommend? i see laptop cards selling on auction sites and they look pretty complicated to fit.

If the laptop has an MXM slot then its upgradable somewhat.

However, since you say it has an Intel integrated card, then 99.9999% chance that it is not upgradable.

I dont have a clue, all i know it could be a dell or a samsung. Its not been released yet (if he accepts the offer he will be paying £55 a month + internet). From what i heard it is an intergrated card. I thought this would be something like some MBs with integrated graphics but you can also add another.
When i get more spec about this laptop i will post it here. But as Nymins said if its intergrated its 99.999999999% chance its not upgradeable so i doubt this will be :(

I would personally just have the internet and buy a laptop with a better specced gfx chip in it already, these promo laptops tend to be just internet general use laptops, not specifically for any kind of 3D gaming.

Get a laptop with a better card in it from the start. As others have said, an upgrade is very unlikely.

eh?

laptops dont do gaming well enough with a decent graphics card. Its not worth upgrading

That makes no sence at all.

Gaming laptops are amazing at gaming.

Incedently does any one know of a good site to be able to buy Laptop graphic cards as I really dont want to realy on auction sites.

Message me in trust if you do
