can you use a ps3 controller on pc

hi all just wondered if you can use a ps3 controller on the pc like the 360 pads,would it work for dirt2 as will be getting this game tomorow,also do i need any software to run it if so does somoeone have info and the link to the software if needed

Well to answer your question yes you can but i don't have a link to the software required for it to do so. sorry

However i believe there was a thread on this a while back somewhere, try and find that as it had a link in there.

tries the above windows 7 see's the controller ect but cant callabrate it or anything,any ideas what im doing wrong ect.

If you can actually install the controller and get windows to see it you can use THIS copy all the files into the game DIR and then run the tester and see if you can get any of the buttons to work.

If they are working but they are in the wrong order just edit the .ini file example A=2 change it to what you want.

This is the only way I got my PS2 control to work with GTAIV as it wants you to use the xbox control.
