Can you use bluetac to cure capacitor whine?

Bit of a random thread title I know!

I've been trying to track down the source of a capacitor whine in my system whenever the soundcard is in use for some weeks now.

I finally located the source last night as one of the capacitors on my IP35 pro motherboard as the whine stops immediately if I lightly place my finger on top of the capacitor.

As such, I was trying to think of a long (ish) term solution for this as the motherboard/cpu combo is likely to be in service for another 6 months or so and was wondering if rather than removing the board from the case and getting the glue gun out (something which I would rather not do in all honesty) I could use a small blob of bluetac on top of the capacitor concerned?

Has anyone else tried something similar or is this a really bad idea?

Many thanks
