Run an Nvidia 7600GS without the fan connected if your only ever going to run it in a DOS environment?

I have a shuttle that i last night tunrned into a FreeNas box and the loudest part of the system is the GFX Card fan.

Or better still can you poot a PC into the freenas OS without any graphics card installed.

Yes, FreeNAS will run headless. It's purportedly a fairly pants OS though, you'd be better off running Ubuntu Server unless the shuttle is very low spec.
