I've noticed I've been getting into a load of canadian artists, without really choosing to. It seems loads of great music is coming out of Canada at the moment. Anyone else notice this?

Here's a list of some canadian artists:
- Broken Social Scene
- Stars
- Arcade Fire
- Feist
- Metric
- The New Pornographers
- Tegan & Sara
- The Stills
- Wolf Parade

(ok, it's all indie music as well :p)
Any other great canadian artists out there that I'm missing?

City & Colour
Bedouin Soundclash
The Constantines
Martha Wainwright
The Tragically Hip
The Unicorns (who subsequently went on, in part, to form Islands)
Bell Orchestre (includes members from The Arcade Fire)
Caribou (formally Manitoba)
Venetian Snares
Sixtoo
The Weakerthans
Shotmaker
Godspeed! You Black Emperor are also Canadian I think

Canada has some top music.

Yeah I'm the same, I didn't realise I was starting to listen to a load of canucks without actively seeking to, especially The Band, Broken Social Scene, Barenaked Ladies and The New Pornographers

I checked out Tegan and Sara after (embarrasingly enough) hearing a track on Grey's Anatomy, and they have some top stuff.

/edit: plus 2 of my all time favourite artists are canadian, Leonard Cohen and Neil Young

A lot of canadian bands share members: BSS, Stars, Metric, The Dears, KC Accidental, Do Make Say Think, Feist, The Weakerthans, Raising The Fawn etc etc.

My favourite canadian band are Lifehouse...i think you can class them as indie type music.

Must not forget Bryan Adams too ;)

metric, wolf parade and tegan & sara! are all great bands in their own respects. not quite in canada but seattle's own Minus the Bear are my current fave new band; great refreshing sound akin to deathcab, :).

Our Lady Peace, Chantal Kreviazuk, Sarah McLachlan, Delerium - some of my favourites. The Canadian radio stations having to play a minimum amount of Canadian content does seem to help them produce a healthy amount of good music.

There isn't a particularly vibrant alternative music scene in Canada apparently (indie stuff etc) and so I guess the bands that get through have to be good haha :p

now now, the Canadian government has apologised for Bryan Adams on several occasions.

Can't believe I forgot Crash Test Dummies

I wondered how long it was until you'd post that, seeing as the OP missed it out :p

Also, Annihilator are canadian. (Well, Jeff Waters is, and it's pretty much his band + session musicians)

evidently, oh well never claimed to have much knowledge about such things. But I like Lifehouse's music so will agree with FerrariEnzo

 Sic i'm disappointed that you can't see CTD for the pinnacle of musical achievement that they clearly are
