When going to park in Canary wharf, the security ALWAYS pull me over and swab the steering wheel for explosives or something?

Must have been there at least 100 times in the past 2 years, and every single time I've been stopped. They stop me, while all big vans and estates are going by which could easily have bombs or something in them :o

All this got me wondering.. what would happen if I were to handle fireworks at some point before going there? Would the police be called and stuff?

Edit: Cars have been Peugeot 207cc and a corsa (both newish cars)

Will they be looking for gunpowder? or is that too old skool?

lolthread :)

and you will be fine :D

Next time try get a little tan and look very very shifty when driving through, in fact for effect have a water spray and spray your palms and face for effect!

there is a secret code between all security guards which means that anyone with an alarm clock wired up to a couple of small pipes sat on the passenger seat is allowed through security no questions asked

You know its a failure when they have to check you like that.

All it would take is a decently planned operation, bit of bribery here and there with the security, bit of patience and so on.

Security is such a silly idea, it never really works if the person after it/them/you whatever really wants it/them/you.

Its more or less just to put people at ease than it is to actually protect something.

Yes, this happened the majority of the time when I used to travel there via taxi for client meetings. It seemed to happen entirely at random.

They always pull me as well. Last time I had loads of server kit in the car and they wanted to know the ins and out of a cats ***.
