Hey,

I need to cancel a magazine subscription and I was wondering if cancelling the direct debit online on my banks website means that I have cancelled the magazine subscription. Or is this bad and they will come back saying there is a charge for them not being able to take payment?

I can phone up if it's best, but obviously it is a lot easier to just cancel the DD.

Thanks,
Tobes

Do both, that way you have proof you tried to cancel it and the company can't take the "one last payment" as I've seen happen a couple of times when the phone operators messed something up.

I'd cancel the subscription then in a couple of days check that the DD has been cancelled, if not, cancel it yourself.

haha just seen that I let it too late and just today they have taken another payment. This means I have 3 more months of magazines again which is no problem. If I cancel tomorrow will I still get the magazines I have paid for?

Then again I suppose that question is best asked when I am cancelling.

Thanks people :)

I always cancel with the company first then once that's done I then cancel the DD (same day). Recently did this with Sky.

Only time I wouldn't do this is when you're in credit and they owe you money.
