Cancelling BT and Signing up in Partners Name?

Hi All,

With the current round of price rises, I am able to cancel my BT phone and broadband.

I an ideal world I would do this and re-sign up as a new account to benefit from:
- £5 less per month due to current broadband offer
- £125 Sainsbury's voucher
- £130 Quidco

However, I'm not sure this is possible in the same way as with say Sky due to the need to keep the same phone number?

I know it would work if moving to a new provider, but not sure how BT's systems would handle?

Anyone done this before?

Asking for problems I'd probably say.
Keeping the number may be an issue as technically it's a new customer and why would you want the number the old customer had?
