Cancelling contract early

I have been with o2 on contract for around 8 months now and I'd like to change considering their reception is very poor, especially in my house compared to my dad's phone which is on orange and is excellent.

I hold the gold insurance (£60 a year). Will this cover if I end my contract early? I don't fancy paying off the rest.

Iirc phones4u are the only shop which will currently buy you out of your contract, so you could look at that, if not drop your tarrif to its minimum and they just buy your self out of it.

The insurance won't buy you out of your contract, it only covers the handset and any calls made if it's stolen.
To end the contract early, you'll need to pay the remaining line rental. Selling the phone on should allow you to recoup some of the cost though.
