I joined EE in July this year on a 12 month contract, I was offered unlimited calls/text and 4GB 4g data.

My allowance refreshed last week and somehow EE claim I have used 2gb already, when in fact i've used somewhere near 600mb. I've read a lot of people complaining about EE and their miscalculation of data usage so decided to give them a call and only to be told they are unable to tell me where my data has been used due to data protection?! It's my data!!

Do I stand any ground to cancel my contract early without paying termination charges?

No.

The contracts lock you in so tight that even dying won't do much for you so don't think about faking your own death, either.

Got that "allowance used" message the other day on my Nexus 7 I've got with them.... turns it it was an error of some kind in their monitoring systems I believe. Tried the tablet the next day and allowance was fine.

Know I hadn't used any allowance at all too, as I was up near Cape Wrath and the mobile "signal" up there is about as rare as a "No" voter in the same area of Scotland!

They cant see the content at that lvl of cs they can see the time/date/amount

The "allowance used" message is a pest I got when I only had 30gb left :P should be fixed soon if I recall

After hours on the phone and being put through to several people, they told me I have to go into store and show them the data usage on the phone and then check the account usage there. If they can verify my claims then I am free to leave with no early termination charges. I'll be heading into store tomorrow to sort this out.

Doubt they will cancel it on that basis there and then
