I'm moving out from our student house and back in with the parents at the end of the month so will need to cancel the broadband, how long does it take to cancel with NTL?

I tried to find the info on the NTL site but can't and can't be bothered hanging on a line for hours to get an answer. :p

I'm guessing I should cancel now?

30 days notice once you've been with them a year and seen out your contract

if you've not been with them over a year and are still under contract its a lot more hassle.

Send them a recored delivery letter stating your intention to cancel and the reasons why, otherwise they might claim to have never received it and you get a bill a few months after.

Lol good luck.

I was with ntl dial up 5 years ago and i rang them to cancel and they told me it was canceled and it wasnt as i found out later as my bro was getting billed for a few months after i rang so they stole 2 months worth of cash from my bro (he had the card to pay i was young then). So rang again they said canceled and it wasnt so another month took. Finally i got mean with them on the phone and eventually it was canceled.

Worst experiance ever imo.
