I'm a little confused as to O2's cancellation terms and conditions.

I need to cancel my subscription after being with them for a year, as I am leaving my student house and not needing internet under my name. I called up and they said i must give them 30 days notice, so i must call back 30 days before the date of contract OR they will charge me £50.

But i just looked online, and what i can gather from their website, is they will charge me £50 whenever i cancel? Anyone had any experiences with this? Help appreciated :)

You've just reminded me. I need to do the same at the end of this uni year.
Assuming its like Be* it should just be a written letter or phone call to cancel after the year

As far as I am aware (I am an o2 customer) the £50 only applies if you terminate the contract before the minimum term, in this case 12 months. You can ring them beforehand and say you want to terminate the contract in 2 months time, they should be able to do that. There is nothing to say you can't give them more than 1 month notice.

If they say they can't then ask to speak to the accounts manager, but they ought to be able to. It's always worth backing the call up in writing aswell.
