**** Cancer

I couldn't even begin to comprehend what you're going through, even seeing your wife go through what she is, let alone your diagnosis.

All I can say is - you're an extremely strong person to be going through this, yet having such a pragmatic attitude with supporting your children. I don't know you from Adam, but what an absolute great husband and father you must be.

I wish you and your family all the best.

Thank you for the wishes and positive messages - far too many to reply to but it does mean a lot.

This week I was very busy getting tests done. The good news is both the endoscopy and the pET CT came back clear so with any luck the cancer is localised in my jaw, although i am a little bit hesitant given the failure of these scans to pick up anything in my wife.
I'm hoping to get news of my surgery this week, and crossing my fingers it is as early as possible so I can be hope in time for christmas as it is very likely the last Christmas as a whole family. My wife is doing OK, but there are clear degradations week by week so either the side-effects of this 5th chemo are taking the toll or the cancer is having a bigger impact.

i am trying to eat like a pig while i can, because post surgery I will be fed through a tube for 3 weeks, then liquid food fo another month.

Just try to stay injury free because it can be a cause for the NHS to refuse to do surgery I think. Like if you have a fall or pass out and break anything

Jesus christ, that was a tough read. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family dude.

As I get older, and my parents age, I think about these situations all too often and try my best to use it to my advantage and do things i wouldn't ordinarily do or try.

Easier said than done with the daily 9-5 grind though.
