Cannon Ixus I Zoom, what flash memory?

I try not to be a noob about finding out info but sometimes its easier to turn to a body of opinion like the forums than search yourself.

My Mom has bought a Canon Ixus I Zoom camera and would like a larger Secure Digital flash memory card to go with it. However I have heard of some incompatibility issues exist between memory types and camera makes. In particular I have read several complaints about bytestor memory and canon cameras. Rather than repeat that mistake I was hoping to find some good advice before making my purcahse.

Can anyone help me, either with advice or pointing me to some information.
