I have had to do a rebuild of current machine due to new case and the only thing that has been changed is the GPU is now no longer on a riser due to issues with the case etc.
Windows seems to be working ok but I cannot access the BIOS and as such cannot overclock my cpu which is a 8700k on a custom water loop.
I previously had it solid 5Ghz @ 1.32v but restored to stock before I moved into the new case.
If I try a restart, the PC hangs, screen goes black but when I reboot, windows is fine.

Any ideas good folk of OC land as its driving me mental

Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery -> Advanced Startup, and on the new menu screen that appears, go Troubleshoot -> Advanced options -> UEFI Firmware settings. That should allow you to enter BIOS.

ROG Strix Gaming-F and I cant flash it as I cant get the BIOS to show on screen for long enough to get to EZ Flash- its currently on BIOS 0612 from Jan 18 but there are 2 newer ones if I could only get to it

The board has a special feature where you put the BIOS file onto a flash drive, and boot the PC up while it's connected. It should automatically detect the BIOS file and load up EZ Flash without need to boot into BIOS. Perhaps even unplug the drive so only the USB is connected.

i've tried to make a bootable USB stick and had the new BIOS on it as well but didnt work- might try it again though as other programs now not working- not sure if a clean reinstall might help?

its an M2 drive so would be a pain to do but looks as if I might have to try it!

It doesn't need to be a bootable stick. Just make sure the USB is formatted as FAT32 and only the BIOS file is on it.

had left the machine off over the weekend and it let me get into BIOS after it performed a Windows update and I have managed to flash to latest BIOS. Typical as I had ordered a replacement board in the meantime so will ahve to decide what to do now as was an expensive replacement
