Hi,

Using Windows Live Hotmail and Firefox 3.03 on Ubuntu 8.04, I cannot reply or compose any messages. I can read emails, but when i hit reply, the area where you write and select text size/colour is greyed out and nothing can be written or changed? I cant seem to find a solution for this. I have the Add-on user-agent switcher and when setting that to IE7 i get the same problem.

Any help or solution??

Nope, it's shafted mate. Microsoft at it's finest.

Install the User agent switcher addon. Set it as IE7.

Try this. Open MSN.com.
If you're signed in, sign out.
Then, sign in.
Sign out.
Clear your cache.
Close browser.
Open hotmail.com.

You might get to send one mail. But it will stop working at some point. Bad coding, really.

I get the same issue with Chrome, so it seems browser independant. just a MS screw-up :)

Hmm, thanks for the replies. I tried the signing in out in out shaking it all about then clearing the cache, but that didnt do anything :( It only seems to have broken in the last week or less when the live mail appearance changed. Hope they sort it somehow soon!

My wife hotmail account is also playing up. She can't seem to send any emails to other hotmail users, I tried sending an email to herself which also never appeared. If I look in the Sent folder the email is there with just the time that it went into the folder, previous sent emails also have the date against them.

I assume that this is just a hotmail issue and has only happened after the switch over to the new look format.
