cannot decide on laptop or desktop

The case specs says this:

Cooling system
Front: 1 - 120mm fan (not included)
Rear: 1 - 92mm fan (not included)
Side: 1 - 120mm fan (not included)

So I would get 2x 120mm and 1x 92mm. Can never have enough air flow!

Looking at the motherboard spec on asus website, I can only see one case fan header, I could be wrong though. I would buy a Phanteks PWM Fan Hub (£15.95), that should let you control all fan speeds from the one header on the motherboard.

You shouldn't need any other cables.

Wifi is not built in to the motherboard, you would need to buy an add in card or USB wifi dongle. I prefer a wired connection myself..

It looks like everything you need is included in that spec, apart from case fans + the fan hub.

Great thanks.

Do i need to orientate the fans differently so some blow in and some blow out?

If spending another £15 on a fan controler maybe i should look to buy a better board then that has several fan headers?

And is 450W enough power?

Just thinking also on Intel or AMD:

My first Intel choice comes to £272.97...

But I could go AMD for cheaper (but limited to DDR3 instead of DDR4). Comes to £228.93....

Changed my mind on AMD after reading some reviews.

This is my latest version. I have added the case fans (2x120mm and 1x92mm). I have also upgraded the monitor from a 22" to 24". To compensate I have downgraded the graphics card from a 380X to a 380. Also had to add a wireless card.

I don't know if this was the right choices, for the 2" larger monitor I have sacrificed GPU power?? But the fans and wireless card have also now pushed this over £800. I could save £55 if I drop to an i3 CPU?

I do have a question about the fans. The description in the 120mm fan says this:

"The ARCTIC F PWM forward the PWM signal from the CPU to the whole case ventilation system."

and the 92mm fan picture appears to have more connectors coming off it.

So does this mean I need a fan hub, or do all these fans connect together somehow to give the control off the one motherboard connector?

Thanks

Just logging my latest combination here so I have it to hand.

Any comments / improvements are welcomed. Price creeping up a bit because I'm thinking about a different case, which doesn't come bundled with a PSU, so increased cost there too. I am waiting for new AMD GPUs to reveal before making the final purchase decision.

Question - do I need to buy a SATA cable, or does either motherboard or SSD come with one already?

It was more about space in my house rather than portability. But I had a move around in the living room on monday and have made room for a computer desk in the corner. Happy days!
