Thought installing win7 would be a good idea on my laptop. Couldnt get the wireless to work, since the application that activates the wifi button wont play nice with win7. After 4 hours of installing different versions etc etc, decided to uninstall win7 back to XP.

Everything went well, EXCEPT, i now cannot remove the blasted win7 folder. It is a massive 10gb that i could really use.

Tried all sorts of methods to restore permissions to admin/me. Nothing works. Even downloaded the subinacl thingy, set the owner to me/admin, still no joy.
I've done all the safe mode/restore permission/ownership things too.

Anybody any other ideas on how to force a delete of the win7 folder?

You should have recreated the hdd partitions and formatted when installing XP.
As said maybe a bios or extra buttons sometimes need drivers from the manufactures website.

i downloaded all the new bios/64bit/32bit drivers, nada, refused to "turn on" the wifi button, even though the wifi adapter was ok.... but i've already uninstalled win7...

my main problem is now getting rid of the WIN7 folder... i've tried the unlocking util above, still no joy.... this is driving me nuts... why can i not delete files off MY own hd....
