Hello,

I bought a F2A85XM-D3H board a week ago and have loaded Windows 8 without problems. However, I cannot enter the BOIS? If I press “DEL” during the boot up I see the initial boot screen then the screen goes blank and nothing happens?

I’m connected via HDMI, but I’ve also tried VGA and I get the same result, anyone come across this before?
I’ve updated the BIOS from Windows without problems and the PC seems to be working as expected.

Any advice welcome,

Cheers

Is the board overclocked? sometimes an unstable overclock can cause weirdness such as that to occur.

Please try a clearing the CMOS and trying again.

I bought this board only last week, nothing wrong with mine (apart from the initial boot screen won't turn off in the UEFI bios, but I can live with that)

Have you tried a PS/2 Keyboard instead (that's if you are using a USB Keyboard currently)

It's not overclocked as I've never managed to get in the BIOS.

I've tried a PS/2 Keyboard.

How are you connected, HDMI etc?

I'll have a go at clearing the BIOS and see if that helps.

Cheers
Thanks

I have HDMI+DVI in use (two screens) with a Corsair K90 USB keyboard.

Don't know if different USB ports make a difference or not.

I've just cleared the CMOS and now the PC won't boot, I can't get in the BIOS and after the initial screen (which looks wrong as I can't see all the logo?) the screen goes blank and the PC does not respond - I can't toggle number lock etc.)

Done that thanks and still nothing. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to overclockers tomorrow, should I send the motherboard back under DSR or take the whole PC in for someone to look at? Could do with this working ASAP as it's the HTPC and we watch it daily...

Try powering off completely at the wall.

Removing the battery for a good 10 minutes etc.

And trying again?

Took the battery out this morning and waited 10mins, replaced battery plugged back in and same outcome…

Purchased on the 27th Nov. unfortunately this will be going back, think I’ll replace with the same board.

I’m going to get a replacement, anyone know if I can perform a straight swap without re-installing Windows 8? I’m guessing its not a good idea but just curious.

Cheers

Same chipset then yeah, should boot fine and maybe deteact a few hardware changes and install automatically.

If it's an identical board with same features etc, then zero problems using the same install.

i know what your probl;em is as i had the same on my gigabyte board. The hdmi does not scal down far enough in resolution to allow access to the bios. I have to connect a seperate monitor to my mobo when i want to go in the bios.

Try a monitor and not a HDtv and it will work :)
