Basically, i have a 5 pc network in my office, we are all on windows professional.

3 Computers can connect fine to the server, one cannot, ive disabled all firewalls on the machine, but when i go through the network setup, it just cannot find the server.

They are both in the MSHome group, both have service pack 2 installed, ive tried setting the network up automatically, and seperately putting ip addresses in, but still im not having any luck, and frankly, im stumped now.

Any ideas guys?

I should add I can ping the computer okay.

can you open a file on the server using the ip addresss and folder s name?
edit the host file, make sure the pc isnt part of a domain or is in *** correct domain or workgroup.

Thanks for that, i did a format, as i wasnt getting anywhere, I can see the network now, but im getting mscvrt.dll not found error when i try to map the drive (despite the file being in my system32 folder).

I formatted twice and it did it both times, so im kinda stumped.
