Hi, having some trouble with my pc at the moment, i cant get a cd to boot from startup. trying to load a new OS onto my system onto a different drive by unplugging my other hard drives. But the disk never boots, sounds like it isnt even scanning the disk and then just stays on a blue screen like theres no signal to the monitor. does anybody have any ideas or any tips. I have tryed loads of things and the cd just wont boot. If you try clicking on the disk from my computer an error message says "setup can not run on this version of the operating system. To install windows please try booting from the install media." . And if i click on the setup.exe on the disk it says "setup.exe is not valid win32 application" .

i have a 160GB which im currently using but want to use my second hard drive with vista but the disk will not boot when ive just got the second hard drive plugged in  ,

please can somebody help me?

If you want to install from within your old OS you need to use the winnt32.exe file, browse the CD. If it isn't booting from the CD then well...did you make it yourself and is it legit?

An ISO will boot if you burn it as a bootable disk, not if you burn it as a data disk. Re-burn it to a new disk and make sure you select bootable
