A few years back you could do it but now swinton says you can't.

They would only do it for the day of my cbt test and I would only be covered from the start of the cbt and not the ride to the cbt center.

So now would I need to declare my bike off road to DLA as I can't do my cbt just yet?

I would have liked insurance in case someone steals my bike:(

Thanks.

Carole Nash let me do it. I think it was a condition that I had to pass my CBT within a month. Obviously I wasn't insured to ride it to the CBT centre, so my dad sorted that :)

Of course you can't ride your bike to the CBT legally, you don't have a license.

As for insurance it never used to be an issue, try phoning a different company up. But wouldn't surprise me if things have changed. You can't get special insurance policies for stuff that won't be driven, so you can still get cover for theft if needed.

Just use one of the bikes at the CBT centre so much easier.

Thanks guys I will call up some more places tomorrow :D

The main reason is so I know I am safe if some one steals my bike as a few people have been sniffing around a lot it seems.

Cheers.

I rode my bike on my cbt just set the start date to the date of my cbt, and by the time the paper work had come though i had my certificate to sent them. I think its express insurance

This. I called them up, told them I was doing my CBT on whatever day it was and that I would be picking up the bike from the shop providing I passed. They insured me no problem.
