Hi,

I am posting on behalf of my brother who bought a ""Titan Nero" AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz DDR2 System" bundle from OcUK and I am helping him try to get Windows 7 on which he bought on dvd (Home Premium)

Set first boot device to CD/DVD, but it gives an error:-

Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press Enter

The hard drives are SATA and the bios reports them as an add-in device, the dvd is also sata on a different cable.

Just posting from work so will try and get more detail later. Anyone offer any help?

Thanks for the replies so far. To answer:-

I did a quick check last night of the connections, but worth another check I guess

I had been through all the BIOS settings I could find, but again will do a double check.

There was no prompt to 'press any key to boot from cd/dvd'

I will try unplugging, a few things later and double check the above. I guess as long as I know it 'should' boot from the DVD then thats fine.

Not sure what hardware you got... but you have to set HARD DISK order then set BOOT DISK order on Asus motherboards.

Two seperate menus.

I had to hook up an old ide dvd player to boot Windows 7 from. But I am still stuck as the installation could not find any sata hard drives to install on.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P

I had a thought. The driver cd that came with the motherboard wont have windows 7 drivers on it .... would it? Going to download the win7 drivers and try and get the sata drives to show up on installation.
