I just got Dragon Age on DVD, but I cannot complete the install process.
About halfway through, the whole PC semi-locks for about 1 minute (I can move the mouse but not actually *do* anything, including Task Manager. The sidebar still works -the clock ticks and the CPU/memory bars are working - CPU usage is ~7% or something - but the hard disk activity light stays lit).
Eventually, it comes back to life with a "Installation has failed: Permission on a data file denied" error.
I've tried Google, but nothing concrete has turned up.
If it makes a difference, I'm running a solid state disk for C:\ and two raptors for D: and E:. I'm installing to the first Raptor on D:, which is the drive the installation chooses anyway.
Windows 7 64bit.
Has anyone encountered this or know a workaround?
Thanks.
One thing I haven't yet tried is to install to C:\Program Files - one user reports that this works OK, but for some reason they can't install to a D:. Just hope I've got enough free on the SSD
