We were experiencing some difficulties with BSOD's on the standard Win7 64 install on a GX660R laptop so decided to do a full system recovery from the F3 option. This failed to complete (and win now even fail to start) so we then tried to restore using the recovery disks that were created when the system was fresh.
We now have problems. The recovery DVD's the recovery discs fail with a "BCDboot.exe false" error and will not complete the recovery. It just will not finish and all lights go off on the drives.
I would try removing the drives from the machine and formatting using a caddy but am afraid of invalidating the warranty by doing so as a waranty sticker will have to be removed.
I know I could go and buy a full retail copy of Win7 but I would like to reinstall the machine back to factory settings.
Hope somebody can help as we are tearing our hair out.
