Hi,

My pc is running Windows 7 right now and I am struggling to setup the network so it works correctly. I am connected to the internet via my wireless router no problems but I cannot see any other computers on the network, and they cannot see me.

I am not sure what I have done to it but the other computers are running either Windows XP or Ubuntu. Also I cannot connect via TVersity to my Xbox 360, plus the 360 cannot see me. But when I have tried pinging people it works all correctly.

I am not running any 3rd party firewall, just the inbuilt Windows 7 one. Any suggestions on how to try and sort this out?

Make sure your local network is set to the "Home" profile in Network and Sharing centre. If you're set to one of the other profiles a lot of the discovery and sharing services are blocked.

Put your computer's network into the "Work" profile and make sure it and all other computers (XP, dunno about Ubuntu) are members of the "WORKGROUP" workgroup.

Also some times takes a while for computers to show in explorer, try typing in their name in the address bar: //name
