As a dispatcher, i'm on NHS band 4, atm my pay is 17k+25% so around 22k.
Intense isn't the word sometimes, last night we have double our normal workload for a Saturday (over 2000 incidents) and we struggled to get breaks done for both us and the crews, my normal role is Radio, so you have to be on your toes taking shouts from crews, as well as making sure jobs are allocated, but the Commander for the control room bought us all Pizza, so it wasn't all bad
I don't get tired enough to go to bed till around 4ish.
Why did I go into IT?

Where are you working now - closer to home and out of the smoke?
The tiredness hit me at about 5:30, Zombified a about 6:30 then I had some red bull and all is \o/
Phate - isn't that commute a bit of a nightmare?
Well fortunately the work so far has been during the day so I've managed to avoid it.....its usually chock and block thoughOuch - do you stagger your working hours to avoid all the inevitable pile-ups and congestion in the mornings and evenings? I've spent far too many hours stuck waiting at that bloody place when working with a mate
Tell him to bugger off. I thought you moved out of your parents in with that girl?
Man, I'm so behind the times. Why are you back with the parents? Unlucky.
