Cannot stream onto TV

Hey guys, i am trying to stream videos from my Note9 onto my samsung TV but cannot seem to do it

Every so often i do get a popup on my TV asking if i want to allow a device to play audio or something to that effect but that was never me as i have never tried to stream until now

I have turned on all the connectivity settings like bluetooth, NFC, etc on both devices

I have tried casting the entire screen as well as sharing individually videos but on my ote9 it always says "cannot connect to device"

I would prefer to have screen mirroring rather than having to "transfer each video individually" Any thoughts?
 
It's impossible to say without knowing the make and model of TV and whether or not you have it connected to your home network.

Incidentally, Bluetooth is more likely to be for an audio connection rather than streaming or casting or mirroring video.
 
is he trying to cast which means it plays on the tv only?

or is he wanting to play on both? which is screen mirroring.

it sounds to me he is trying to cast something which is streaming on his phone. likely a dodgy app which isn't available for his tv.
 
He hasn't logged back on since he posted, so I am guessing he has either sorted it or it's not a priority.
