Cannot use vent + guildwars at the same time

Right.
i can be on guildwars and surfing the internet and talking on msn all at once, do that all day no lag or problems, but if i connect to ventrilo and start talking to ppl whilst on guildwars my whole internet shuts down and needs a router reboot after 30minutes or so, fine for 30mins, then whole internet broken.

this has happened just after installing a new hdd however i think this is coincidental.
it also has happened on 2 different isps, was doing it on orange, iv since migrated to zen but it still does it.
i have a Netgear DG834G v2 router.

i have tried :
uninstall/re-install vent + gw
forwarding required ports for vent + gw in my router and disabling upnp (vent+gw are also allowed on windows firewall)
installing latest firmware update
both ethernet ports on my mobo


does anyone have any idea what it could be causing the problem? the fact that it only happens when im on vent + gw and talking to ppl on vent leads me to believe its some sort of packet overload perhaps? i can have vent opened and not lag out as long as im not in a channel of ppl talking and talking myself.

any help greatly appreciated, if someone can sort it ill give them an e-cookie, or a fair few expensive gold items if they themselves play guildwars.lol

*touch wood* i think iv solved this problem now.
i uninstalled and reinstalled the network drivers on my mobo and reset my router to factory defaults and then re-set up everything from scratch and that seems to have fixed it, not sure which part fixed it or why but if anyone gets a similar problem to this thats how i did it.
